Fishing

big grass carp at westerly lake

Our Fishing Lake

This beautiful, natural looking lake was designed by the National Rivers Authority. The spring-fed lake has superb water quality and an environment that is ideal for the large numbers of coarse fish that inhabit the lake. The lake is an outstanding silver fish fishery, and is stocked with roach, bream. tench, gudgeon, crucean carp, and perch. Additionaly, there are large numbers of carp well into double figures, and both mirror and common carp to over twenty seven pounds have been caught,  also, a grass carp of twenty eight and a half  pounds.

Anglers who are fishing for carp must have an unhooking mat and a large landing net. Fishing is from 7am until sunset (9pm latest), and day tickets are available on the bank.  Please make sure that you are familiar with our rules before coming to the fishery. All anglers must have an Environment Agency licence. There are no matches on the lake, and the lake is open all year. Please note for insurance reasons the minimum age on the property is 16.
